Jackson, Mich. — According to the National Weather Service (NWS), yet another round of snowfall is possible for the Jackson area Thursday evening into Friday morning. Currently the heaviest amounts of snow are expected south of the I-96 corridor early Friday and could impact the morning commute.

This would be the third consecutive Friday that the Jackson area has seen a significant winter weather event after a winter storm, complete with a rare Thundersnow phenomenon, dumped nine inches of snow on Jackson last Friday, March 3. The previous Friday, February 24, mid-Michigan was walloped with an ice storm that knocked out power to hundreds of thousands of residents and businesses leaving energy companies scrambling for several days to restore power.

Stay tuned to WKHM for the latest developments on this potential winter weather event.
