…WINTER WEATHER ADVISORY REMAINS IN EFFECT FROM 4 PM THIS AFTERNOON TO 7 PM EST FRIDAY… WHAT…Snow expected. Total snow accumulations of 3 to 5 inches. Winds gusting as high as 40 mph late Thursday night and Friday. Rapidly falling temperatures Thursday night into the teens. Wind chills only around zero on Friday. WHERE…Portions of central, south central and southwest Michigan. WHEN…From 4 PM Thursday to 7 PM EST Friday. IMPACTS…Plan on slippery road conditions. Patchy blowing snow could significantly reduce visibility. Hazardous conditions may impact the Thursday evening commute, with worse conditions expected for the Friday commutes. The roads will become increasingly icy and snow covered Thursday night into Friday morning. Isolated power outages. ADDITIONAL DETAILS…The snow may begin as a mix of rain and snow but will quickly change to all snow. The passage of the arctic front after midnight will causes the winds to increase significantly and will cause considerable blowing and drifting snow.
