
Jackson, Mich. (WKHM) — Battle Creek Police arrested a Battle Creek man, described by authorities as being in his early thirties, following a shooting incident on West Spaulding Avenue that left one victim in critical condition on the afternoon of Friday, March 28. Police, with the assistance of both the Battle Creek Fire Department and LifeCare Ambulance, responded to a report of a shooting incident in the early afternoon hours at a home in the 40th block of West Spaulding Avenue.
Upon their arrival, officers located a male victim with apparent gunshot wounds, from a shooting that occurred just outside of the home, in the driveway area. Two additional individuals were inside the home at the time of the shooting but were not injured. First responders on scene attempted life-saving measures on the victim, before he was transported to a local hospital initially in critical condition. His condition would later be updated to stable.
Officers believe that the suspect and victim knew each other. The suspect is currently lodged at the Calhoun County Jail for attempted murder.
