Michiganders and others who enjoy spending time out of doors are going to find that it will cost more to visit Michigan state parks next year. According to the Department of Natural Resources January 1st will usher in higher fees at parks across the Mitten State. Recreation passes will cost $14 for the year. That is a dollar more than last year’s fee. The cost for motorcycles however will stay the same. DNR leaders say the change is due in part because of the economy as the cost is determined by the Detroit Consumer Price Index. Along with parks, the pass provides access to boat launch sites, campgrounds and trails.
