WKHM brought you Mayor Derek Dobies giving the State of the City Address Wednesday night. The mayor said it was a great year for building starts in the city, and this year looks quite promising.

The mayor wants to put together a “Poverty Council.”
Longtime city employee John Willis has been named as Chief Equity Officer for the city.
Former city manager Patrick Burtch was in attendance to receive a key to the city, apparently not a very big one.
As we reported earlier, Jonathan Greene is now the acting city manager. In a follow up interview, Mayor Dobies told WKHM the city council will assess his progress after six months.
Aside from economic development, lead water line replacement, poverty and roundabouts, gun violence is still top of mind for Mayor Dobies.
