Jackson, Mich. (WKHM) — Springport Public Schools is preparing to search for a new superintendent. Christie Robinson announced her resignation in a March 28 social media post, saying she is grateful for the community’s support over the past four years.
Robinson has accepted a new position in Otsego but says she plans to make the most of her remaining time before stepping down on June 30. The school board will meet this week to begin the search for her replacement.
Meanwhile, the district is pushing for a $32.7 million bond on the May ballot. If passed, the funds would go toward major facility updates, including a new transportation center and upgrades to the elementary school gym.
Robinson took on the superintendent role in 2021 after a long career in education. She replaced Randy Cook, who had returned from retirement to serve as an interim superintendent.
Stay tuned for more updates as the search for Springport’s next leader begins.
