County Commission Chair Steve Shotwell was on WKHM Tuesday morning and reiterated that the county will be working on a tight budget.

Despite the budget squeeze, the county is working on a plan to tackle more roads.

State Senator Mike Shirkey was also on WKHM Tuesday morning and had high praise for Jackson County for their work with roads.

Shirkey is in the middle of Michigan’s budget challenges, and said he understands why school districts might be uneasy.
