Jackson, Mich. (WKHM) — The Jackson County Sheriff’s Office is investigating a fatal hit-and-run that occurred early Saturday morning in Summit Township.
At 3:49 a.m. on November 23, deputies responded to a report of an unresponsive pedestrian near South Street and Helena Avenue. Upon arrival, paramedics from Jackson County Ambulance confirmed the victim, identified as 27-year-old Brent Walker of Jackson, had died at the scene.
Deputies determined Walker’s injuries were consistent with being struck by a vehicle. The suspect vehicle, believed to be a charcoal gray or black model with minimal front end damage, fled the scene.
The incident is under investigation by Sheriff’s Accident Reconstruction Team, with assistance from Jackson Community Ambulance and the Summit Township Fire Department.
