Jackson, Mich. (WKHM) — Animal control officers have seized several dogs from a home on Nash Drive in Leoni Township, the same area where two severely ill huskies were found abandoned last week.

An anonymous tip led officers to a home where they believe the dogs were dumped — and possibly by the same people who reported finding them in the first place.

Both young huskies had parvovirus. Sadly, one of them didn’t make it, passing away at a veterinary hospital in Ann Arbor. The other puppy, which the hospital staff lovingly named “Crash Bandicoot,” survived and is still recovering.

Jackson county Animal Shelter Director Lydia Sattler says Crash is bouncing back — he’s eating on his own and even “chatting” a bit with staff.

Investigators are now testing Crash’s DNA to see if he’s related to any of the dogs seized in the raid.

Crash is now healthy enough to be adopted and is available through the Jackson County Animal Shelter.
