Francis Street Primary School and St. Mary Star of the Sea School were locked down for about an hour Wednesday morning after police responded to the corner of Martin Luther King Jr. Drive and Wall Street for a report of shots fired. Police recovered several shell casings at the scene. No one was injured but a parked car was hit. No arrests have been made. That makes four consecutive days that gun play has been reported in the Jackson area. Officers found shell casings in the 300 block of Barberry Drive early Sunday morning after a report of shots fired. During a fight between a group of juveniles in the 200 block of Rockwell Street Sunday afternoon one person pulled a handgun and fired several times, and homes on W. Trail Street and Chittock Avenue were struck by gunfire on Monday and Tuesday mornings respectively.
