Dorogi was a racing fanatic and loved spending time at Michigan International Speedway. He was also a regular at Jackson County Chamber events for decades.

Bob’s obituary can be found below.

Robert (Bob) Ray Dorogi passed away October 11, 2023 at the age of 81. He was the loving father of Dr. Carolann (Hugh) Kinner, Jennifer (Teo Konuralp) Dorogi, and Jim (Carly) Dorogi; cherished grandfather of Nathan and Teia Kinner and Avery and Mila Dorogi; dear brother of Elaine (late Ron) Parana, Roger (Barbara) Dorogi, and the late Ronald Dorogi; and former spouse of Tin Dorogi.
Bob was a veteran of the Vietnam War in the Armed Forces Radio and a recipient of the Purple Heart. Upon his return from Vietnam, Bob lived in Dearborn and Sandusky, Michigan, eventually settling his family in Jackson, Michigan, where he remained a proud resident for over fifty years. Bob was an active parishioner of the Queen of Miraculous Medal Roman Catholic Church in Jackson and a longtime member of the Detroit Sports Broadcasters Association. He found joy in the simple things life. A big bowl of ice cream, NASCAR stock racing and Walt Disney World were some of his greatest pleasures. He was rarely seen without his Mickey Mouse jacket or NASCAR pins and souvenirs. Bob will be remembered for his kind heart and great sense of humor, entertaining friends and strangers alike with a robust collection of printed jokes and memes, tucked neatly in his coat pocket, ready to bring smiles on any occasion.
Mr. Dorogi has been laid to rest at Great Lakes National Cemetery, 4200 Belford Rd, Holly, following his funeral mass.
