A plane crash on Littlefield Lake in Isabella County injured two men, Saturday.
The crash was witnessed by two deputies on water patrol, who said that the plane struggled to gain altitude as it attempted to lift off from the lake. As the plane become airborne, it collided with a tree and nosedived into the lake.
The deputies were able to respond to the plane quickly and remove them from the cockpit, with the help of other witnesses.
The plane’s passengers, a 54 year-old pilot and 62 year-old passenger, were treated at the scene by emergency personell. The passenger was flown to Grand Rapids with serious injuries. The pilot suffered non-life threatening injuries.
The crash remains under investigation.
