Jackson, Mich. (WKHM) — People for the Parks & Trails (PPT), a non-profit group  with the goal of cleaning up Jackson’s parks & trails, is planning a clean-up event on Halloween weekend.

Saturday, October 28 at 10 a.m. the group will be meeting at Mt. Evergreen Cemetery on Greenwood Avenue. Those interested in giving about 90 minutes of their time to help can meet at the front entrance of the cemetery off Greenwood Ave. and Morrell.

“Mt. Evergreen Cemetery is a beautiful historic cemetery that’s operated by the City of Jackson,” says PPT Co-Founder and President Aaron Dimick. “This time of year, it’s in need of some cleaning up so it can look its best for visitors. this will be a great volunteer opportunity for residents and families who’d like to visit a macabre-looking cemetery on Halloween weekend and help the community at the same time!”

According to a press release, volunteers wishing to join in will assist in removal of fallen branches, leaves, and trash from gravesites. There will also be storytelling.
