The City of Jackson recently announced a new Executive Director of the Downtown Development Authority. According to the City’s website, cityofjackson.org, Cory Mays assumed the position of Executive Director of the DDA and is excited to begin work in downtown Jackson. Mays said, “Downtown is in this amazing spot right now. It’s growing so much with events, new businesses, and more people coming downtown. A chance to be a part of that is super exciting.”. A goal of his is to establish more events throughout the year that will increase awareness of what’s available downtown. “We have a great opportunity to engage more with our businesses and see what we can do to help them,”
Mays is a longtime Jackson resident and has previously worked in education including a stint as music teacher for Michigan Center Schools. Mays recently served as Director of the Michigan Music Education Association.
