The leading death for Michiganders under the age of 45 is traffic crashes. Millions of dollars are going to be sent across the state to help make roadways safer. The Michigan Infrastructure Office will disperse grants across the state that will help with improvements between bus routes, including widening the sidewalks, increasing the visibility of crosswalks and updating intersection lighting. Nearly 50 million in grant money will be spent in Detroit and Dearborn while another 16 million dollars will be spent in 13 other communities for similar projects across the state.
