Michigan State Troopers in Livingston, Washtenaw counties and other mid-Michigan locations have issued a scam alert. There have been reports from citizens claiming they were called by a man claiming he is a MSP trooper. He tells them they have a warrant and then asks for money or other financial info saying he can clear up the situation. Michigan State Police say they will NOT call persons about outstanding warrants and that anyone who gets a call from someone claiming to be with police should hang up and call the police department back. They advise to never give out personal information over the phone.
