On the morning of January 13, the Michigan Department of Transportation (MDOT) will close M-106/US-127 Business Route (Cooper Street) between I-94 Business Loop (East Michigan Avenue) and Washington Street for water main work and bridge replacement in Jackson.

MDOT says the water main work will help improve drainage, and the new bridge will help provide drivers with a reliable structure for decades. Traffic will be detoured via the I-94 Business Loop (East Michigan Avenue) and Washington Street. Motorists should expect delays.

According to MDOT, this $12 million investment will support a total of 114 jobs. The estimated end date for the project is October 31, 2025.
