City of Jackson Mayor Daniel Mahoney recently joined AM Jackson to clarify details about a construction project coming to Pearl Street in the City. An assessment of the project failed to pass during the City Council meeting on the 14th, but the project itself will still move forward. Mayor Mahoney outlined why that decision is the necessary one to make.
He also gave a brief rundown of some details of the assessment process, and why these assessments may struggle to gain support and burden citizens and businesses.
The commitment to work on Pearl Street may prevent future projects on different roadways from taking place, but that is a trade off the Council is willing to live with for the time being.
