JACKSON COUNTY, MI (WKHM) – Gabriel Dixon has been arraigned on multiple felony charges, including Open Murder, Felony Firearm-Second Offense, Possession of a Firearm by a Felon, and Possession of Ammunition by a Felon, according to Jackson County Prosecuting Attorney Kelsey A. Guernsey.

The charges stem from a shooting incident that took place in Jackson County on September 30, 2022. If convicted of Open Murder, Dixon faces a maximum sentence of life in prison.

Prosecutor Guernsey explained that due to the manner in which the case was transferred into Jackson County, officials opted to dismiss the original transferred file and reauthorize the charges within the county to protect the legal process. Dixon remains in custody at the Jackson County Jail without bond.

The case has been assigned to Judge Gaecke, with Dixon scheduled to appear in court on April 11, 2025.

Authorities emphasize that the charges against Dixon are accusations, and he is presumed innocent until proven guilty beyond a reasonable doubt.
