All Michigan restaurants and bars have been ordered to close their dining rooms to prevent exposure in the wake of COVID-19. Many Jackson, Michigan restaurants are remaining open for take-out and delivery only. See that list here.
However, that still leads to a decreased need for staff and uncertain times for food service workers everywhere. One local restaurant has pledged to pool all tips left by customers during the dining room closure and match them dollar for dollar.
According to the Klavon’s Facebook page, “All funds raised will then be dispersed to all staff members who are currently out of work due to the coronavirus outbreak.”
