Jackson, Mich. (WKHM) — As election season approaches, the League of Women Voters is offering Jackson-area residents a chance to meet their candidates in person. A Meet the Candidates event is set for Tuesday, September 24 from 6 to 8 p.m. at the Ella Sharp Museum’s Grand Community Room in Jackson. Doors will open at 5:30.
The event is organized by the League of Women Voters Jackson Area, a nonpartisan group that promotes political involvement through informed participation. At least 18 candidates running for Jackson County and state-level offices in the November 5th general election are expected to attend.
Candidates from key races, including State House Districts 45, 46, and 47, along with local county offices, will have the opportunity to introduce themselves and speak on their platforms. After the presentations, attendees will have time for one-on-one conversations with the candidates.
