Jackson, Mich. (WKHM) — Coming up this Wednesday, April 25, at the American 1 Event Center from 8 a.m. to 1:30 p.m. is Jackson’s fourth annual Summit to Reduce Violence. Jackson County Prosecutor Kelsey Guernsey and Jackson Police Department’s Chief Christopher Simpson recently discussed the event with WKHM, including this year’s central theme of domestic violence.

 

The Summit’s keynote speaker, Tanesha Ash-Shakoor, is a domestic violence survivor and legal expert, and will share insights on how to break cycles of abuse. The event will also provide resources for those dealing with domestic violence in their lives.

 

The Summit’s panel aims to inform attendees about the help that is available to domestic violence victims locally.
