SANDSTONE TWP, MI – A 25 year old Jackson woman was treated on the scene, and later released for a non-life threatening injury when a bullet grazed her face following a shooting at the corner of West Michigan Ave, and North Dearing Road on Friday evening.

During the investigation, officers from Spring Arbor Township and the Jackson County Sheriff’s Office learned a red Chevrolet Camaro was being pursued by a darker color Ford Fusion while traveling southbound at a high rate of speed. The female victim, who has not been named, was traveling northbound as she approached the intersection in a separate vehicle when she was caught in the crossfire. Authorities do not believe she was the intended target of the shooting. It is also believed the shooting originated from the Ford Fusion. No arrests have been made at this time, and the investigation is still ongoing.
