Jackson, Mich. — Jackson Mayor Daniel Mahoney tells WKHM that he was near the MSU Campus on Monday night shortly before the shooting that took the lives of 3 students and wounded 5 others. Mahoney says that in the wake of threats of violence being made recently to local schools, his heart goes out to students during these times.

Mayor Mahoney said the city of Jackson continues to take action to reduce gun violence within its borders.

Mahoney says that everyone has the ability to do their part to make the community safer, and its easier than you may think.
