The sentencing of Tamarious Faulkner, the 28-year-old Houston man that pled guilty to running the “Thorough Bread Family” gang that trafficked fentanyl in and around Jackson, is scheduled for April 29. He faces at least 10 years in prison, and six other members of the gang have already been sentenced. City of Jackson Mayor Daniel Mahoney was asked if he felt like the City had a gang problem. The Mayor said he leans toward “no” as the answer.

Mayor Mahoney also stated that he feels like the City is safe, and is getting safer by the day.

On the topic of positive movements aimed toward preventing general and violent crime, the annual Summit to Reduce Violence was highlighted as a positive effort by the Jackson community to help curb violent crime.
