Jackson, Mich. (WKHM) — A popular program encouraging Jackson residents to get outside and get active is making a return. The Jackson Parks and Recreation Department, in partnership with AARP Michigan, is bringing back the Walk, Roll, Stroll Jackson series — free events open to all ages and abilities.
This year’s events are set for May 6, May 20, June 3, June 17, July 1, and July 15. Registration begins at 6 p.m. with a warm-up at 6:20, and the walk kicking off at 6:30. Participants will follow non-competitive 3-mile routes through city parks, with shorter options available.
Walks will alternate between Ella Sharp Park and Cascades Park. Organizers say it’s a fun, easy way to stay active this spring and summer, and they’re grateful for AARP’s continued support.
Prizes will be handed out after each event, with a grand prize drawing on July 15. For more details, call Jackson Parks and Rec at 517-788-4040.
