Jackson, Mich. (WKHM) — The Jackson County Sheriff’s Department is investigating an apparent homicide that took place Sunday evening. They were called to a home on Robinson Rd. about 7:30 p.m. Sunday, July 30 by the victim’s son, 33-year-old David McClure, who said something had happened to his mother.

Deputies found 55-year-old Karen Tobin inside the Robinson Rd. location dead of an apparent homicide. While performing their investigation just before 9 p.m., McClure arrived at the scene and rammed two of the Sheriff’s vehicles, exited his vehicle with a weapon and charged the deputies.

Two deputies fired at McClure who was hit and then taken to Henry Ford Jackson Hospital for treatment. The Michigan State Police is investigating the officer-involved shooting. According to investigators, McClure is a person of interest in the homicide of Karen Tobin.
