In a Facebook post on Wednesday morning the Jackson County Office of the Sheriff reported details of a fatal crash in Jackson County:
Sheriff Steve Rand reports that on November 5th, just before 3pm deputies were sent to the area of Spring Arbor Rd and 19th Street for a serious injury traffic crash. Summit Township Fire and Jackson Community Ambulance responded as well. The driver of one of the vehicles involved suffered fatal injuries in the crash.
A 61 year old man from Jackson was driving a 2005 Chevrolet Impala along with a 47 year old Jackson women passenger. The Impala pulled from a parking lot into the path of a west bound 2000 Dodge truck driven by 40 year old Jackson women.
The occupants of the Impala suffered life threatening injuries and Summit Township Fire had to extricate the occupants from the vehicle. They were both taken to Henry Ford Allegiance Health where the driver later passed away from his injuries. The driver of the Dodge truck was taken by ambulance to Henry Ford Allegiance Health with non-life threatening injuries.
The road remained closed for several hours while the Sheriff’s Office accident reconstruction team investigated the scene. The investigation is ongoing at this time and additional information will be released when it becomes available.
