A Jackson County jury returned a verdict of guilty against defendant Trashawn Johnson on seven felonies: two counts of assault with intent to murder, three counts of felony firearm, one count of carrying a concealed weapon and one count of felon in possession of a firearm.

The maximum possible penalty with assault with intent to commit murder is life in the department of corrections.

The case relates back to a shooting incident in the City of Jackson outside the Foundry Bar on July 18th, 2021 at approximately 2:24am and resulted in three people suffering gunshot wounds.

Jackson County Prosecutor, Jerry Jarzynka, thanked the jury, the prosecution and law enforcement for their efforts “These are tough cases to hear and we’re very pleased with how they found the facts and applied the law…this is an extremely violent case”.

Johnson’s sentencing date is schedule for October 26th at 8:30am before Circuit Court Judge Susanne Jordan.
