Jackson, Mich. (WKHM) — The Jackson County Animal Shelter is celebrating a big year in its 2024 impact report.
The shelter helped 3,271 pets find new homes, including 1,944 dogs and 1,282 cats. Another 553 animals were reunited with their families.
Staff also stayed busy with animal safety and care — investigating 67 cruelty and neglect cases, responding to 365 bite calls, and conducting 542 welfare checks.
They handled over 1,000 reports of animals running at large and provided more than 2,200 clinic services.
One major highlight — no animals were euthanized due to time or space limits.
The Jackson County Animal Shelter says this is a sign of their ongoing commitment to care, compassion, and community.
