Marcellus Freeman scored 17 of his team-high 20 points in the 2nd half on Saturday @ Kalamazoo Valley Community College as Jackson came storming back from a 40-28 halftime deficit. Jackson came back relatively quickly in the 2nd half and tied the score at 58 with 11:38 left. The two teams went back and forth for the rest of game and found themselves tied at 74 with 2:09 to go after a Marcellus Freeman 3-pointer. The 74-74 stalemate would last until :37 when Jackson’s Ray Johnson fouled Melvin Frazier from KVCC. Frazier made both free throws to give the Cougars the 76-74 lead. On the ensuing possession Jalen Martin from Jackson missed a lay-up that would have tied the game.
This loss drops Jackson to 6-14 on the season and 3-6 in the MCCAA.
