A man is in custody after a threatening voicemail shut down a Michigan elementary school for two days.

Hillsdale County Prosecutor Jamie Wisniewski says Kevin Minder was arrested Wednesday in Lucas County, Ohio. He’s facing charges of making a terroristic threat, misusing telecommunications, and assault with intent to cause serious harm.

The threat, left on a staff member’s voicemail Monday, claimed to know their address and included plans to bring a weapon to the school. Hillsdale Police worked quickly, identifying a suspect by Tuesday. However, schools remained closed Wednesday until Minder was taken into custody.

Superintendent Ted Davis says Hillsdale Community Schools will reopen Thursday with an increased police presence. Additional counseling services will also be available to support students and staff.

Minder is expected to be extradited to Michigan to face charges.
