A Hillsdale County man will spend about four months in jail for posting threatening messages on Facebook while out on parole.

Michigan Attorney General Dana Nessel announced Monday that 30-year-old Paul Hawkins, currently incarcerated at G. Robert Cotton Correctional Facility in Jackson County, was sentenced to 133 days behind bars.

Authorities say Hawkins made the threats in May 2024, targeting Hillsdale County Prosecutor Neal Brady on the Hillsdale City Police Department’s Facebook page. Brady was the prosecutor during Hawkins’ prior convictions.

Hawkins was found guilty in January of malicious use of a telecommunications device and using a computer to commit a crime.
