Michigan Gov. Gretchen Whitmer signed a new executive order that requires bars & restaurants to be closed 2 weeks longer than the original order.
Under the original order, bars & restaurants would have tentatively been able to reopen their dining rooms on March 30, but now they will have to wait until April 13, 2020.
Takeout and delivery options are still available at many Jackson-area restaurants. See our list here.
“COVID-19 has created an unprecedented challenge to our way of life as Michiganders,” Whitmer said in a statement Saturday. “That’s why we are making decisions based on science and facts to protect public health and keep people safe.”
This amended order also requires hair & nail salons, barber shops, tattoo parlors and other personal service businesses to close through April 13th as well.
