Jackson, Mich. (WKHM, Marc W. Daly) — Three cars were destroyed Sunday evening when a fire broke out inside a garage in Napoleon Township.

Fire crews were called to a home on Ackerson Lake Road around 7:05 p.m., where a detached garage was fully engulfed in flames. Assistant Fire Chief Jeremy Holbrook says neighbors had to alert the homeowners, helping them safely exit the house before firefighters arrived.

Crews were able to extinguish the fire, but the garage and its contents — including three vehicles — were a total loss. Thankfully, no injuries were reported.

The cause of the fire is still under investigation. Multiple agencies, including Jackson Fire, Blackman-Leoni Public Safety, and Consumers Energy, assisted on the scene.
