The Crucible is a 20 plus mile, self supported endurance hike along back country trails. The purpose of this event is to offer an exciting personal challenge specifically designed for the hiking community.

The Crucible is not a race – you versus you! Since its inception in 2019, The Crucible has helped raise over $25,000 for charity.

The Waterloo-Pinckney Crucible will be held on April 20, 2024! This event is a 22 mile self-supported endurance hike along the beautiful Waterloo-Pinckney Trail. Hikers will begin and end at Portage Lake (42.3327440,-84.2376780). Click HERE for a map of 11700 Seymour Rd, Grass Lake, MI 49240.

Participants will have 12 hours (8am-8pm) to complete the route and will receive a patch if successful. Hikers will also receive an event tshirt during registration the morning of the event. Aid stations will be a four to six mile intervals where Crucible Crew Staff will be posted with log books.
