Jackson, MI: Cascades Humane Society Partners with BISSELL Pet Foundation to Host “Empty the Shelters” Event Cascades Humane Society (CHS), a not-for-profit, tax-exempt public charity dedicated to the welfare of animals in Jackson, MI, is thrilled to announce its partnership with the BISSELL Pet
Foundation for the upcoming “Empty the Shelters” event. This collaborative effort aims to find loving forever homes for pets in need.
From January 23 to 27, 2024, the BISSELL Pet Foundation will sponsor reduced-fee adoptions for select dogs and cats at Cascades Humane Society, located at 1515 Carmen Drive, Jackson,
MI 49202. The event provides a unique opportunity for the community to make a positive impact by choosing adoption and saving a life.
Heather Leszczynski, Executive Director of Cascades Humane Society, expressed her excitement about the event, stating, “We are thrilled to partner with the BISSELL Pet Foundation for this incredible initiative. ‘Empty the Shelters’ not only highlights our commitment to finding homes for our furry friends but also showcases the importance of adoption. We hope this event brings
new attention to our longer-term pets, like Leia and Lox, giving them the chance to find their forever families and experience the love they truly deserve.”
Leia, a 1.5-year-old mixed breed dog who has been with CHS since July 2023, is a huge people lover who enjoys belly rubs and does well with other dogs. Lox, a 6-month-old kitten with FeLV, is described as super sweet and playful. Both Leia and Lox exemplify the unique personalities awaiting potential adopters during the event. During the event, select dogs will have a reduced adoption fee of $50, and select cats will have a reduced adoption fee of $20. Animals eligible for reduced-fee adoption will be prominently featured at CHS with special signage.
CHS invites the community to visit the shelter between noon and 6 p.m. from Tuesday to Saturday to meet Leia, Lox, and other wonderful pets.
