He’s just a Sophomore in high school but Ypsilanti Lincoln’s Emoni Bates has been the subject of much attention about his basketball future for years now.  Bates recently graced the cover of Sports Illustrated where he was mentioned as likely to be next in line of a list that includes Magic, Michael Jordan, and Lebron.

Last season Bates lead the Railsplitters to a hard-fought victory over the Jackson Vikings only to be defeated the next afternoon by the Hanover-Horton Comets.  Ultimately though, Bates would lead the Railsplitters to the State Championship and take a step toward confirming the predictions of greatness are accurate.

The Vikings will do their best against Ypsi Lincoln on Monday night as the two teams face-off at Spring Arbor University.  Lincoln is 7-1 overall, 5-0 in the Southeastern Conference White Division.  The Vikings got off to a slow start this season, losing their first 6 games.  The Vikings have won 3 straight since and are playing well heading into this match-up.
