Jackson, MI (WKHM) – Today is primary election day in Jackson County, where the city is voting in a runoff election for Mayor.  There are three candidates for two chosen spots in the November election;  current Mayor Daniel Mahoney, current Councilwoman Laura Dwyer Schlecte and past candidate for Mayor, John Wilson.  The top two will then be chosen for the November ballot.

Two school issues make the ballot as well today.  Northwest Community School voters asked to approve a $21.5 million bond for essentials including security.  The zero mil increase over last years levy.  Superintendent Geoff Bontrager on WKHM.

Similar situation at Michigan Center Schools.  Superintendent Brady Cook on WKHM discusses the bond would not make an increase and would provide so much more than the needed air quality upgrades in certain schools within the district.
