Jackson, Mich. (WKHM) — San Derria Lee Ervin, 25, will serve 18 months to 20 years in prison for firebombing a Springport home, after she missed her original sentencing and fled from a rescheduled hearing. She was sentenced Thursday, October 31 by Circuit Court Judge Thomas Wilson.
Ervin pleaded guilty to second-degree arson and manufacturing explosives, with a deal that initially allowed her boot camp sentencing and a sealed record. However, the deal was revoked when she cut off her GPS tether and failed to appear for sentencing in September. Ervin was later apprehended at her Detroit residence.
Her charges stem from a February incident where she tossed Molotov cocktails into a Jackson County home and vehicle, resulting in minor injuries to the homeowner. Investigators linked Ervin to the scene using Flock license plate cameras. Alongside her prison term, she’s ordered to pay nearly $13,000 in restitution.
