Jackson, Mich. (WKHM) — The City Council unanimously passed a resolution last night to rename Milwaukee Street to Carl Breeding Way. The changes will affect Milwaukee Street from Alpine Lane South to the city limits at Dale Street. The approval happened after a public hearing on the item at the beginning of the meeting.

Items sited in the resolution included Mr. Breeding’s 60 years of service to the NAACP, his early efforts to name a street after Martin Luther King, him being named one of the 30 most influential Jackson citizens of the century, and more.

Also last night the City Council approved the purchase of an F-250 4×4 from LaFountain for $48,568 and to be fitted with special equipment for an additional $29,789.
