Jackson, Mich. (WKHM) — Students at Concord High School have celebrated their first harvest as part of a new hydroponics class that started last year. This innovative course teaches students how to grow plants indoors using a water-based nutrient system, avoiding traditional soil methods. Concord Community Schools have installed four indoor farms, including one at Concord Elementary and three at the high school.

School leaders say the program aims to educate students on both the science of plant growth and the importance of understanding where their food comes from.
