The Jackson Community Foundation’s Board of Directors is welcoming a new charitable fund created to memorialize the closure of Faith Evangelical Church while providing ongoing support to Trinity Lutheran School. The Faith Lutheran Church Designated Endowment Fund will join over 400 existing funds used to strengthen and build the community through grant-making to local charitable causes and students in Jackson, County.
Faith Evangelical Lutheran Church was founded in 1997 with the mission to retain the historical Lutheran faith and liturgy in Jackson. Its doors were closed in November 2024 after 27 years. Rev. Ross Mahan served in the Divine Service administering the sacraments since 1998, but due to health was not able to continue the ministry.
The congregation and governing board has decided to donate the remaining assets of the church to benefit traditional Lutheran education. The designated fund at the Jackson Community Foundation was established with $35,000 to support Trinity Lutheran School at 4900 McCain Rd in Jackson. The endowment will create a permanent asset which will continue in perpetuity.
