The City of Jackson has announced it will resume leaf collection efforts on Monday, March 9th and continue through the spring. Crews are slated to begin by completing curbside pickups in section 4 (see map below), followed by section 6, 7, 8, 9, and 10.
Some blocks of the city were missed during the first collection, so the City of Jackson reports that another full-scale collection will happen in sections 1 through 10 this spring.
Interim City Manager Jonathan Greene says, “we understand the frustrations that residents have had with the speed of our new leaf collection program. The DPW expects the upcoming spring and future fall collections to go at a faster pace. The City thanks residents for their patience with our new program.”
Curbside leaves cannot be collected if parked vehicles are blocking them. Updates will be available on the City’s website, Facebook page, and the Leaf Collection Phone Line by calling 517-768-6088.
