Jackson, Mich. (WKHM) — Jackson City Council met Tuesday night at City Hall. One of the issues on the agenda was a presentation given by the Jackson Housing Commission on their 2024 Fiscal Year Annual Report, given by the Commission’s Executive Director, Arturo Puckerin. The presentation outlined their current and future projects, as well as what they highlighted as major accomplishments. The presentation was met with concerns and pushback on its numbers from Fifth Ward Councilmember Davis. City Manager Jonathan Greene spoke about how City officials can help Jackson residents by working with area housing leadership.

The topic of decriminalization of entheogenic plants, such as psilocybin mushrooms, has been brought up in multiple meetings, with Council hearing citizen comment both for and against the movement. City Council should see an item on the agenda regarding this sooner rather than later.

Motions for construction and on reconstruction of the MLK Equality Trail was passed, which is something that City Manager Greene believes is important to the community.
