36 Total charges have been filed against two couples from Dewitt. Attorney General Dana Nessel announced the charges against 4 people, one of which is a former child advocate with the Children’s Services Agency within the Department of Health and Human Services. The charges are against Jeol and Tammy Brown and Jerry and Tamal Flore, all of Dewitt. Joel Brown allegedly used his expertise in the field of child abuse investigations and Child Protection laws to avoid detection of the ongoing child abuse in his home and the Flores home, which could date back to 2008 and involve as many as 30 children in that time. The four have until Friday to turn themselves into law enforcement officials.
