Catholic Charities of Jackson, Lenawee and Hillsdale Counties held a “Tear Down Child Abuse” event Thursday morning at their Wildwood Avenue location. The event was a kickoff to a fundraising and awareness campaign for the expansion of their child advocacy center. Development Coordinator Mikhail Fedewa says there was a huge increase in cases last year with physically and mentally abused children in the Jackson area.

Fedewa says abuse of children is a growing problem.
