Jackson, Mich. (WKHM) — Charles “Chip” Mundy, a long-time area sports reporter, has died after a fatal head-on accident Monday on West Michigan Avenue.
According to officials, Mundy crossed the center line and ended up in a head-on collision with another vehicle after side swiping an oncoming vehicle. Mundy sustained severe injuries as a result and passed away at the hospital.
The occupants of the other vehicles were transported to the hospital with non-life-threatening injuries.
Mundy is well-remembered in the community for his sports reporting and coverage of hall-of-fame coach Tony Dungy.
