A 43-year-old man is in custody after allegedly stabbing a security guard at a Jackson bank with an engraving pen. Police responded to Flagstar Bank on W. Michigan Avenue just after 5 p.m. Monday.
According to investigators, the bank had already closed, and the security guard was blocking the door while employees prepared to leave. The suspect reportedly tried to force his way inside, leading to a confrontation. During the struggle, the man stabbed the guard on the left side of his face with the pen.
When officers arrived, the suspect was still at the scene, holding the pen. He attempted to flee on foot but was quickly apprehended.
The suspect is now at Jackson County Jail, facing charges of assault with a deadly weapon and resisting arrest. The security guard’s condition has not been released.
