Jackson, Mich. — A 22-year-old male City of Jackson resident has been arrested in connection with an incident on Friday, April 14 at the intersection of Dearing Road and Michigan Avenue when a 25-year-old female was struck in the face by a stray bullet from a passing motorist.
According to the Jackson County Sheriff’s Office, footage was obtained from surveillance cameras at Western Schools, residential security cameras, and two local convenience stores which showed at least two subjects leaning out of vehicles discharging weapons. It is believed that three vehicles were chasing each other.
After identifying a person of interest, this resulted in the search of a residence on the 500 block of West Trail on May 9 and the subsequent arrest of the 22-year-old subject on a felony warrant, as well as two additional subjects on parole violation and federal probation violation. The Sheriff’s office also states that they found suspected heroin and two handguns, one of which was previously reported stolen, at the residence.
